About Carla.
A communications graduate from Santa Clara University, Carla loves helping creative business entrepreneurs by collaborating with them on the parts they aren’t as good in so that they can spend more time focusing on the parts that they are great in! Before starting Make Her Social in 2017, she had her own creative business, Paper & Party Love, designing party printables and had a shop selling party supplies. She did #allthethings herself for that business, so she knows what creative entrepreneurs need. Being a mom and a wife, as well as a business owner, she recognizes that it is really tough to get a balance between all of those roles and there is never enough time to do it all. Often, it isn't possible to achieve that balance and life gets a little crazy. She had a "lightbulb moment" at a Creative Founders Conference (she’s attended a couple times), that led her to realize that she’s much happier helping others grow than she was running her own creative business. She’s an introvert, and talking about herself and promoting her work does not come easy. Her forté is helping people behind the scenes so that they can shine. This is why she founded Make Her Social, a place where she helped businesses get some time back...time to connect with their people and get social again, whether that be online or offline. In 2020, she joined forces with her husband, Mark, to form R+R Creative Co, a business with the heart of Make Her Social but with more specialized services and a broader focus. Carla still lives with the work philosophy that relationships are of key importance and that we can't forget to pay attention to those around us.
About Mark.
Before graduating from Santa Clara University in Business, Mark formed his strong work ethic at his parent’s scientific research company. Starting there in his early teens, he jumped in wherever needed (counting inventory, soldering circuit boards, setting up trade show booths...he even launched their first web presence in 1996) and helped in the post-sale transition. Mark then worked for a couple of dot-com companies in Silicon Valley as well as a Dutch bank that did all of their marketing in Switzerland. From there he spent over 10 years at Google (forming and overseeing diverse and dispersed teams) and 3 years as the Director of Marketing for a global travel company. Throughout all of those experiences, Mark developed his skills for working cross-functionally with a particular passion for understanding how every area of a company affects branding. Mark joined his wife, Carla, to build a different type of marketing consulting company, one that brings in his years of experience across several industries in a way that emphasizes clarity, consistency, security, sustainability, and accountability.
Behind The Scenes at R + R
After having lived in many places, we are happy to have settled in the mountains of Colorado. We love what we do and want others to have work that they enjoy. We love the flexibility to be home for snow days, travel with our daughters, and be here for all of the fun and messy things that happen in everyday life.
When we’re not working or traveling, you will find us at home snuggling with our daughters on the couch watching movies, cooking, re-decorating, or reading.
